Dutch as a Second Language for Highly Educated Non-Native Speakers (NT2)
Learn Dutch from A0 to B2
The Dutch course for non-native speakers (NT2) is designed for highly educated participants. This is an intensive course, and you are expected to complete your weekly homework (2–3 hours). The course materials are intended for students who speak English well and have completed at least a secondary education or higher. Dutch is the language of instruction, but explanations are often given in English.
Course levels are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The NT2 courses are language courses and do not prepare you for the civic integration exam.
You can take the NT2 State Exam (program I and/or II) on your own initiative.

NT2 Dutch for Non-Native Speakers – Course Levels and Structure
- You will attend in-person lessons on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evening.
- Group size is a minimum of 6 participants.
- If a course is full, you will be placed on a waiting list.
- If you have little or no knowledge of Dutch, you can register for level A0-A1 via the website (registration).
- If you want to register for a higher level, a placement test is required.
- The course consists of 22 lessons, each 2.5 hours long. Class time: 19:00–21:30 with a break.

Nederlands in gang
Beginners: NT2 A0–A1. The course starts at A0 level and aims to reach A1. Offered on Tuesdays in autumn and Wednesdays in spring.
Start: September 2025 and January 2026.

Advanced: NT2 A2–A2+. The course starts at A2 level and aims to reach A2+. Offered on Wednesdays.

Upper Intermediate: NT2 B1–B1+. The course starts at B1 level and aims to reach B1+. Offered on Wednesdays.

NT2 Speaking Skills – Better Dutch
From level B1.
Speaking skills are essential for learning Dutch. This course offers integrated training in content, grammar, and intelligibility. Through seven thematic chapters, you will work on vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. All aspects of comprehensibility—such as stress, intonation, and sounds—are addressed.
Start: January 2026.
